UFC 230 Fighting Odds – Cormier vs. Lewis MMA Lines
UFC 230 Occurs on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (21-1, 1 NC, 10 KOs, 4 SUBs) will defend his title against knockout artist Derrick Lewis (21-5, 18 KOs, 1 SUBs). The card issuers reside on starting 10pm ET.
Only one pay-per-view after the Khabib-McGregor superfight, the UFC is giving us a heavyweight title match. And it just so happens to feature among UFC 229’s breakout star:”The Black Beast” himself, Derrick Lewis. It’s one matter to score a stunning, last-second comeback win in a fight you’re getting dominated. However, Lewis topped that by following this up with the funniest post-fight interview in UFC history, on the biggest night in UFC history.
That’s 1 way of turning into a star. And today, the one-dimensional knockout artist who never actually seemed like a legitimate contender is fighting to get the name under a month after having a beating in the hands of Alexander Volkov. Daniel Cormier’s probably drooling at the thought of an easy paycheck. It is going to also be his first heavyweight title protection.
Regardless of the UFC declaring a banger of a scrap between middleweight hulks Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa, the enormous Cuban has said that the struggle will not be taking place. Though we really hope this competition happens, we tend to trust that the fighter when they stated that they’re not ready. Let’s hope he heals up in time.
If those 185-pounders do not get it on, then there are still three mad good middleweight matchups to anticipate. The biggest of these is that a rematch between former champions Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman, respectively ranked No. 2 and No. 3. Perennial contender Ronaldo”Jacare” Souza meets former WSOF champ David Branch, with both men jockeying to get a title position. The branch’s most fascinating prospect, Israel Adesanya, sets his undefeated record on the line against No. 6 Derek Brunson. Occasionally,”The previous Stylebender” looks like the next coming of a prime Anderson Silva, and everyone is expecting that this dude is for real.

UFC 230 Betting Lines, Predictions and Picks
Here is a weird story. In an interview with MMAJunkie only days after the Volkov struggle, Lewis came out and said he had no urge to headline UFC 230. That he had already begun eating breakfast biscuits and also his cardio was nowhere near the amount it had to be in to realistically challenge for the name.
He finished that interview by saying that it’d have a giant paycheck to allow him to jump into a title fight with a few of the best to ever do it. Later that day, Dana White announced that Lewis will be battling for the title. Seems like someone got PAID.
However, the UFC’s greed is showing here. Lewis was nearly finished multiple occasions, and it was clear he could not last five rounds. Now the UFC is putting him on a card under a month after? That’s known as tapping a star turn. And while we love how honorable DC is, it sure sounds like he’s cherry picking here.
The last time Weidman and Rockhold met, the AKA surfer boy cracked the prior All-American wrestler and took the belt from him. Time hasn’t softened the grudge between them both, and it was a close fight until there. Rockhold has been knocked out twice, suggesting that his brow is a severe weakness. Coincidentally, Weidman endured two brutal knockouts also before rebounding back against Kelvin Gastelum.
These two middleweights are good everywhere, although they have different approaches in each phase. Rockhold’s submission grappling is topnotch, but Weidman is a leading traditional wrestler. Weidman can box with the very best of these, but Luke’s unorthodox kicks can do significant harm.
Ronaldo Souza can’t appear to catch a rest. Among the most accomplished BJJ artists to ever enter the octagon, he’s been in multiple name eliminators, just to fall short in each one. Beating David Branch probably would not seal the bargain, but he could keep his name on a short list of worthy challengers. Branch could vault into the title mix by simply taking the well-regarded Brazilian.
Israel Adesanya has everything required to be a star: an engaging character and more importantly, an electrical fighting style. He’s obviously a exceptional striker, landing all of eight limbs with exceptional accuracy and electricity. Obviously, like all fantastic standup artists, he’s got to pass on the wrestler test, and Derek Brunson – a former collegiate wrestler – is much more than capable to dish that out.
